CELEBRATING THANKSGIVING – Free Mini-Lesson

Students with disabilities often have a difficult time understanding the purpose behind our national holidays or what behaviors are appropriate for which holiday. Helping students to understand the reasons behind and behaviors appropriate for each holiday is an important adult living skill and helps our students to feel included in society’s celebrations.

This mini-lesson from Daily Living Skills’ Celebrating Holidays helps students understand the history of the Thanksgiving holiday. It also contains a quick quiz to help students define appropriate behavior for the holiday and ideas about activities they can do to celebrate the holidays.
